Langston’s writes in a positive way of his love of the his own people that we think of as the back American people. Langston compares people to the beauty of the natural world such as the stars.
Langston’s concerns in the poem are shown by saying that the black Americans are beautiful like the stars on the outside. But he also suggests that the black Americans are beautiful on the inside as well as he says their souls are beautiful.
